ELDT Final Rule effective date delayed, again

FMCSA has once again delayed the effective date of the entry-level driver training (ELDT) final rule, from March 21 to May 22. The delay was published in the March 21 Federal Register.

The final rule was published December 8, 2016, and was to become effective February 6. After the Trump Administration, on January 20, requested a delay in the effective date for all final rules that were published but not yet effective, FMCSA delayed the effective date to March 21.

Even though the effective date has now been delayed twice, the compliance date continues to be February 7, 2020.
